Helping LGBTQ adults stop the shame and start being proud of who they truly are

It can feel tough to deal with life when too much is happening. Most people who start LGBTQ therapy feel lost in life on some level, unsure of how to find their way. Perhaps you can relate.

Maybe you feel like no one understands you but it feels easier to keep all your feelings to yourself. Or you might find yourself questioning who you are and feel stuck in the exhaustion of trying to figure it out on your own.

Do You Feel Ashamed, Sad, Empty?

Do any of the following
resonate with you?

You are questioning or wanting to explore your identity and you don’t know where to start.
You are wanting to explore an aspect of your identity but feel scared about being judged by those around you.
You are trying to stay connected to your biological family but it feels hard to share authentically about your life and feel seen.
You feel scared about deciding to have a family because all you can think about are the challenges and things that would go wrong.
You feel scared someone may not understand your life experience.

If these sound true for you, it may feel difficult to come in. But getting the help you need is a sign of strength and will help you manage the challenges you’re facing in your life whether or not they are related to your identity.

LGBTQ Therapy Can Help You
Be Your Real Self

It’s possible to feel better.
Imagine a life where you could...

Figure out who you are and what you want.
Create healthy relationships.
Stop feeling rejected.
Feel proud and confident in who you are.
Address the challenges that come up as a queer parent.

Live Life As Who You
Really Are

LGBTQ therapy helps you rise above your challenges and start moving towards the life you desire with confidence.

You will get you the fresh perspective you need to find your way through difficult feelings and situations and finally find answers you need.

Even if you are nervous about starting, LGBTQ therapy may be able to help.

I’ve helped many queer people who find themselves confronted with different aspects of their identity find clarity without having to make drastic decisions. With a fresh perspective and a safe place to explore all of who you are, comes the new energy to be engaged in life again to yourself, your partner, and chosen family.

My name is Liberty Velez and I am a counselor and human who is here to help.

How LGBTQ Therapy Works

LGBTQ therapy consists of 50-minute, one-on-one sessions that help you work through your concerns. In addition to listening, I will ask questions and provide guidance based on my experience, I play an active role.

Here’s how it will work step-by-step

First, I provide a safe, accepting space so that you will feel comfortable sharing your struggles with me.

Through hearing your story, I will start to get a picture of what your challenges are.

We will start with helping you with immediate concerns like managing difficult emotions and challenging life situations.

In addition to space to share, you will get practical skills you can use in your life immediately.

During sessions, I will ask a lot of questions designed to lead to insights and increased self awareness. (I’m not a therapist who just sits and listens).

Over the course of our sessions, you will start to get unstuck from your own loops and make progress towards a life you love.

Research shows that LGBTQ therapy can positively change your thinking, beliefs, emotions, and behaviors. It can help you let go of what’s holding you back.
